getting there... sorta...

since my hours have been cut in half at work (*sigh*), i have more time to get back into running. i just hope that i remember all of the different loops, out and backs and point to points that i did all the time last year.

today was a nice, rambling route. i took roland up to wyndhurst and found the head of the trail. i took the trail all the way down to remington and turned around and came back all the way up to the doggy park. i came back up to the higher end of the park, went over to 36th, and ran to elm. that was ~50 minutes, more than 5 miles.

i made myself start out slow again because i'm really trying to keep myself from getting injured. the precautions were good because i was having a little bit of trouble with the heat and humidity. it's a good thing i'm getting out now. it'll help acclimatize me in time for baltimore's summers from hell. it was smart to get onto the trail for two reasons: i got out of the sun, and the earth surface was sooooooooooooooooo beautiful for my shins and knees. i could run that trail a million times for the sake of my joints. plus, i got to jump across the stream. wheeeee!

:)

so far this week, i've done 12 miles. i might do 2 miles with toby tomorrow, later in the evening of course as it gets hotter, and then another easy day on friday. i have pike's peek on sunday, and i'm not trying to get a PR. i'm not in good shape for that. but i just want to have fun with it, see some terprunner friends and chill w/ my guy.

as of 4/24, it'll be TWO races down, with four to go!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
